It's rare that you find an automotive repair facility that is advanced in the art of Customer Service. Joel Portnoy is a master at this art. He is beyond fair and hasn't charged me a dime for anything that didn't need to be done. And, in fact, saved me money by not doing a repair someone else told me was required. The fact that this facility is qualified to work on late model Volvo's - which I unfortunately have - is a GOLD MINE find for me. Every repair has been done right the first time and they have a customer for life. I toggle back and forth between Sac and San Jose. I'll trailer my car to this place before I have the thief's at the San Jose shop work on my V70 again!!!

I brought my 2013 VW Golf TDI for transmission fluid and filter replacement & an oil change a couple of weeks ago. I brought it in at the time agreed upon and they returned it back at the time promised. The work took a few hours so I was dropped off & picked up afterwards. There was some loose bolts in the driver's door. Joel had it checked out and tightened as a courtesy. He's honest & really takes care of his customers. That's why I keep coming back.

Thanks to the other Yelpers, ShOUT OuT to you for leaving a review... I decided to begin taking my car to Carcanix last year after reading a lot of them. Joel & the guys there are the real deal. Old school deal. Honest. Humble. Authentic. Caring. Considerate. All of the qualities that I so often see companies lacking, these guys GO Above & Beyond! It's not like you even have to ask for it,... exceptional customer service is their standard. I appreciate that Joel always gives me options with the pros & cons, I never felt pressure to make a decision and I like that he accommodated his recommendations based off my needs at the time. Mostly I am grateful for the safety I felt moving across state. I brought my car in for some major work and told Joel my intentions to move and with a quick turn around he had my car in tip top shape. Moving is stressful enough so to feel a sense of ease & safety as I drove off was very significant to me.
