I was searching for a mechanic in the Rancho Cordova area. I read the reviews for Carcanix through google and one thing I noticed was they had lengthy narratives describing the customer experience. Almost all were very positive and satisfactory. They also mentioned how impressed they were with the owner Joel. I needed a mechanic who could get my 99 Chevy Silverado truck running again. It suddenly stopped working and I had garaged it for 3 years after not being able to find the problem myself. I walked into Carcanix and talked to Joel in person. He talked to me for about 20 minutes getting a better picture of what could have potentially gone wrong. He told me that I was at the right place and as long as I would be not in a big hurry, he would be willing to tackle the job. 2 weeks later I got my truck back and it has been running like a champ. Turning out to be fuel pump went out. This is why I recommend Joel and Carcanix: He took the time to listen to my situation and was upfront at what he charged. There were no surprises of cost. He text me as they worked on my vehicle and let me know the progress. He also made sure to get my permission before proceeding with any repairs. I wasn't tried to be sold on repairs that were unnecessary. Before my vehicle rad ready to be picked up, Joel ran it until he was absolutely certain the issue had been resolved. So, In conclusion, I am convinced that I found a good mechanic that I'm not worried about getting ripped off. He cares about customer satisfaction and has professional mechanics working under him. He has my future business.

Just great. Everyone here is super nice. All the reviews here speak the truth. I never leave reviews, but genuinely I want others to understand that this is a place to put your trust in just as I did after reading the reviews, going in, and landing on an amazing place. As someone new to cars and getting them fixed, I was really lucky to meet Joel and his crew who really gained my trust from day one with their service, kindness, humor, and honesty. My first visit, Joel generously spent over an hour explaining and walking me through all my questions big and small. And as a bonus, on both my visits so far he's taught me so much about cars in general telling me it's good to know these things. It's like any young, lost car owner's dream to have a mechanic you can rely on. He is also transparent and wants to work with his customers to get the best, desired results. I really recommend this place. If you're on a hunt for a life-long mechanic and a shop that you can really trust as your local “go-to” - this is the place. You can really drive with pride and relief knowing you have a place to go if your car needs some help without having to worry about dealing with doubts/concerns that sometimes can often linger in the world of car fixing. Joel the owner was wonderful to work with when I needed a pre purchase inspection (PPI) done on a car that I wanted to purchase hundreds of miles away that is supposed to be delivered to me so I wasn't going to be able to see it in person before purchasing. Needless to say I really appreciated his help and he was very accommodating as busy as he was so that I could get it in and out and not miss out on the sale. He was very thorough in going over the car and very detailed on the inspection report. I highly recommend anyone purchasing from out of state that they get a PPI done because there are some issues that are going on with the car that needed to be addressed and we wouldn't have known it if we didn't have it inspected first by a independant certified technician.

I have never felt compelled to write a Yelp review before but I cannot say enough good things about Joel and his team at Carcanix. Everybody needs to know what an awesome shop this is. I called about having a pre purchase inspection done on a used car in the area and was just completely blown away by the service I was provided at this shop, even from the very first phone call. I found the ad for the used car on Craigslist and Joel actually pulled up the ad while I was on the phone with him and was looking at it with me and making recommendations on what to look for and what to avoid when shopping for used cars. I brought a car to him that I thought was in pretty decent condition for a used car with a salvage title but they looked over the car with such a fine toothed comb and found many things that would have probably cost me a lot of money later on. Rob, the mechanic who conducted the PPI explained all the issues in a way that even the most car illiterate person would be able to understand. Joel is such a straight shooter and he and his team are truly committed to serving the best interest of anybody that walks through his doors. Cannot recommend enough. These guys are incredible!

Joel at Carcanix is such a great guy! He's the VW guru so that's the only place I trust to take my sport wagon—which he loves and takes care of like his own. He's really smart and thorough, and has quick service. He's very accessible with both a shop phone and text numbers, and keeps in touch as he goes with the work. If something needs to be done, he will tell you. If something can wait, he will tell you—he's not going to try and up-sell you or make you spend any more than absolutely have to at the moment. Since I'm local, Joel even dropped me off and picked me up at home which was beyond nice! Can't say enough good things about this place. Honest, good work. I'll be going back in the fall for my new tires. He even helps with those if you like, stays in your budget and helps you pick what will work best for your needs. Super stuff!

I reached out to Joel to get a Pre Purchase Inspection (PPI) on a Mercedes SUV I was considering purchasing from a nearby dealer. I don't live in the area and wanted someone to represent my interests in looking at the car for me. Despite the car not being ready when he first came by to get it, he didn't just give up, but adjusted his schedule and workload for the day to accommodate having to inspect the car later in the day. Joel found several undisclosed issues on the vehicle and explained them all to me very well. I ultimately passed on buying the vehicle, because of how the dealer reacted to the issues found and the extent of undisclosed issues. I think Joel's thorough inspection of the vehicle saved me from considerable hassle and money. If you are looking for a PPI, this is a great place to choose.

Joel is knowledgeable and very good about explaining what repairs a car needs without jargon so that his customers can prioritize maintenance according to their needs. He performs my regular maintenance reliably and efficiently, and also helped me find a new (used) car and was extremely communicative throughout the entire process. A trustworthy mechanic that I will recommend many times over!

Bottom line - if you're looking for an all around excellent, honest and efficient shop for your car repairs, go here. Seriously. I've been shopping around for quotes for my aging 2010 Mazda 6 since March 2020, when I originally spoke to Joel, who runs Carcanix. He was definitely my first choice despite getting over thirty quotes, but I just didn't have the money for repairs at that time. Fast forward six months to this Tuesday. I'm finally ready to pull the trigger and get my prized (for sentimental reasons) Mazda running once more. I needed A LOT of stuff done. Serpentine belt, spark plugs, synthetic oil change, new rotors, new brake pads, flushing brake and steering fluids, cabin and engine air filters (these are things I went in knowing I wanted, not services I was up sold on) and more. Joel got me in THE NEXT DAY, I thought I was going to be waiting weeks. From the moment I walked in, I was happy because masks are required, the lobby is chained off and I didn't have to worry about getting Covid on top of repairing my car. Joel went over my list of repairs with me in detail discussing everything I wanted, including going over repairs that may not even have to be done to try and save me some money. He worked with me on my strict budget, and was able to complete all of my repairs and more within said allotted budget. As an additional customer service cherry on top, he honored my quote from March, which was lower than a current quote would have been. Not only that, but I got my car in at 9:30 am and my car was ready to go by 5:30 pm despite my laundry list of repairs. I'm ashamed to say I didn't get the names of the fantastic mechanics that I presume performed most of the actual labor, but they were extremely kind and impressive as well. As you can see from my other reviews, I haven't made too many over the last decade, and none this thorough, but I feel that strongly about Carcanix. For as long as I'm living in the greater Sacramento area, I will not take my business anywhere else.

After used car shopping for a while, I found a vehicle I was very interested in. I called Carcanix and the owner answered, we talked about the different Pre-purchase inspections they do and set up a time later that afternoon for them to look at the car. They did a very thorough inspection and gave me a detailed written report on the condition of the car. They gave me the confidence to purchase the vehicle that I thought was a good car, but my knowledge about cars is pretty basic, so it felt really good to have an expert tell me I was about to buy a good vehicle. Notes from the report allowed me to negotiate with the seller, so even after spending money on the inspection, I saved more money on the car. Great experience, thanks!

Carcanix has long been my car care and repair shop place of choice. I have been a loyal and satisfied customer for well over 10 years. The staff and service are second to none. Trust and confidence are apart of the service you receive from Carcanix. Costs are shared up front and completion of work is timely. Both of my vehicles are in their care regardless of my issues. Oil changes to major engine repairs are all possible and can be trusted to be done well. I have always been able to get my car back on the road as soon as is possible with no rework necessary. I have a 2006, Ford Taurus that runs like new all because of the preventative maintenance care and advice I get from Carcanix! Driving it til the wheels I highly recommend Carcanix and always will.

I'm from out of state and was buying a car locally to CarCanix. They provided a pre-purchase inspection for me that helped get some necessary repairs done to the car I bought. Once I made the purchase I had them do some regular service to the car before it was shipped to me. Great to work with and very honest in the work they performed.

Very helpful and knowledgeable. I called last minute to have brakes done and they accommodated me even though I was running late. Asked if I knew differences in pad options and filled me in with positive and negatives for each option. I sat in waiting room and was able to ask some other questions with non mechanic talk. Very helpful and I think I've found a new mechanic.

Carcanix was recommended to me through my friend from work and I couldn't be happier with the work and service. I had an oil change, tire rotation and they replaced a couple broken parts in my wipers. Joel is upfront and breaks down how much everything is down to the parts and service while also being easy to talk to and friendly. He makes recommendations but never pressures you on what you should get and even gives you lower cost options. Highly recommend this mechanic for all of your car needs.

I dreaded finding a new mechanic after moving to Sacramento from the Bay. But it was a must. So after a few epic fails, reading reviews and asking friends, I've found "The Place" Carcanix is upfront with the diagnosis and they take the time to explain the details of what work needs to be done, as well as future repairs (like brakes in 2 oil changes/giving me time to financial prepare) and what parts will be used. Joel is refreshingly honest. He tells you upfront all the possibilities that may be wrong with your vehicle and how much it might cost. I took my Jeep in to have him repair a botched stereo install (done at a stereo install shop), he knew what was needed and did research beforehand to be able to tell me exact cost of parts needed. In the end the job was much more than expected but before he did anything he let me know what was going on and asked what I wanted to do. Then when it was time to pay, he charged me less than I expected it would be. Like I said Joel is refreshingly honest. I highly recommend this place for any and all your mechanic needs.

Choosing a mechanic is like choosing your doctor. We're glad our family discovered CarCanix! Joel is not your ordinary mechanic. He makes sure that he always looks after his clients and makes sure that every visit is worth every dime we spend on our car maintenance. He doesn't over charge. He allots good quality time explaining the car problem,, what caused it. And how we could prevent the issue from happening again to avoid further cost in car maintenance. He is definitely an expert in Mercedes Benz! Probably the most knowledgable I've known in Sacramento outside the MB dealer service group, who charges 3 times the cost. My family will have CarCanix (Joel) as our 'forever' mechanic. Thank you, Joel!

I brought my 2013 VW Golf TDI for transmission fluid and filter replacement & an oil change a couple of weeks ago. I brought it in at the time agreed upon and they returned it back at the time promised. The work took a few hours so I was dropped off & picked up afterwards. There was some loose bolts in the driver's door. Joel had it checked out and tightened as a courtesy. He's honest & really takes care of his customers. That's why I keep coming back.

So I had the clutch on my car go out recently, definitely not a pleasant experience. I called around to several different places for quotes and it turned out it was going to cost a lot more than I originally thought. Joel (the owner) was the only one who took the time to explain to me that it would be significantly more if the flywheel was damaged and that he wouldn't know until everything was taken apart. Every other shop I talked to just quoted me a flat price (but of course after I had it in I'm sure they would have called and told me 'Oh you need a new flywheel, that'll be an extra $400.') Joel was upfront and transparent from the get go, which is why I decided to take it to him. I definitely made the right decision. While the repair certainly wasn't cheap, the new clutch feels great and he helped me out with a really good rate on the labor. Just talking with him you can tell he's an honest guy and very knowledgeable about what he does. I will definitely be taking my car back here, whether it's just for an oil change or another major repair.

When doing a bunch of call arounds, this mechanic wasn't the cheapest. However, he was the only one who broke down how much a repair would cost depending on the severity of the problem. He was open and honest with the repair, gave good communication throughout the length of the repair, and was just amazing all around. You get what you pay for; if you want a car fixed, and done right the first time, go here. If you want something cheap that will lead to more expensive repairs in the future, go to jiffy lube (then go here so he can fix their mistakes). By fixing one car, he got three new clients!

Very honest and reliable. It is hard to find a 5 star mechanic and so this is your place if you are looking. They do almost anything, but I would call to make sure because they seem to do a lot of Japanese cars.

My truck broke down while on a road trip with my family. You can imagine how troublesome this situation could have been. I've been taking my cars to Joel and team for years now. He has done pre-purchase inspections, helped me prep cars to sells and all the usual stuff in between - brakes, oil changes, A/C repair, check engine light work, etc. Joel is always up front about what needs to be done, what should be done soon, and what can be done in the future and what the risks are if you are working within a budget and want to spread out the repairs over time. Joel is also realistic about his schedule. If he is booked up for the week, he will tell you instead of letting you drop your car off and wondering why it isn't ready. Even though I no longer work in Rancho, I still take my cars to Carcanix because I trust them.

Extremely satisfied with the service I received today. Joel and his crew are very knowledgeable about cars and provided excellent service. I had an oil change completed last minute along with some other small repairs to get ready for my road trip and appreciated the additional feedback that was given regarding Honda maintenance. I called about having a pre purchase inspection done on a used car in the area and was just completely blown away by the service I was provided at this shop, even from the very first phone call. I found the ad for the used car on Craigslist and Joel actually pulled up the ad while I was on the phone with him and was looking at it with me and making recommendations on what to look for and what to avoid when shopping for used cars. I brought a car to him that I thought was in pretty decent condition for a used car with a salvage title but they looked over the car with such a fine toothed comb and found many things that would have probably cost me a lot of money later on. Rob, the mechanic who conducted the PPI explained all the issues in a way that even the most car illiterate person would be able to understand. Joel is such a straight shooter and he and his team are truly committed to serving the best interest of anybody that walks through his doors. Cannot recommend enough. These guys are incredible!

I reached out to Joel to get a Pre Purchase Inspection (PPI) on a Mercedes SUV I was considering purchasing from a nearby dealer. I don't live in the area and wanted someone to represent my interests in looking at the car for me. Despite the car not being ready when he first came by to get it, he didn't just give up, but adjusted his schedule and workload for the day to accommodate having to inspect the car later in the day. Joel found several undisclosed issues on the vehicle and explained them all to me very well. I ultimately passed on buying the vehicle, because of how the dealer reacted to the issues found and the extent of undisclosed issues. I think Joel's thorough inspection of the vehicle saved me from considerable hassle and money. If you are looking for a PPI, this is a great place to choose.

Bottom line - if you're looking for an all around excellent, honest and efficient shop for your car repairs, go here. Seriously. I've been shopping around for quotes for my aging 2010 Mazda 6 since March 2020, when I originally spoke to Joel, who runs Carcanix. He was definitely my first choice despite getting over thirty quotes, but I just didn't have the money for repairs at that time. Fast forward six months to this Tuesday. I'm finally ready to pull the trigger and get my prized (for sentimental reasons) Mazda running once more. I needed A LOT of stuff done. Serpentine belt, spark plugs, synthetic oil change, new rotors, new brake pads, flushing brake and steering fluids, cabin and engine air filters (these are things I went in knowing I wanted, not services I was up sold on) and more. Joel got me in THE NEXT DAY, I thought I was going to be waiting weeks. From the moment I walked in, I was happy because masks are required, the lobby is chained off and I didn't have to worry about getting Covid on top of repairing my car. Joel went over my list of repairs with me in detail discussing everything I wanted, including going over repairs that may not even have to be done to try and save me some money. He worked with me on my strict budget, and was able to complete all of my repairs and more within said allotted budget. As an additional customer service cherry on top, he honored my quote from March, which was lower than a current quote would have been. Not only that, but I got my car in at 9:30 am and my car was ready to go by 5:30 pm despite my laundry list of repairs. I'm ashamed to say I didn't get the names of the fantastic mechanics that I presume performed most of the actual labor, but they were extremely kind and impressive as well. As you can see from my other reviews, I haven't made too many over the last decade, and none this thorough, but I feel that strongly about Carcanix. For as long as I'm living in the greater Sacramento area, I will not take my business anywhere else.

Bought my b8 audi a5 used from Highclass Autosale a month into driving the car had a oil leak I noticed on my drive way took it too Audi for a diagnostics to make sure I get an honest thorough inspection. Needed both valve cover gaskets and driver side upper timing cover done as I had active leaks coming from the mentioned parts. I knew audi would charge arm and leg prices so I wanted to take my car to a place that I knew who had experience audi/German mechanics who I can trust and count on. Called Joel at carcanix who is the owner of the place and man did he take care of me like he said. Very heavily focused on customer service. But I've been driving y car for about a week since I picked it up and notice no leaks anymore. Carcanix will now be my permanent home for my audi. Thanks yall!

Very helpful and knowledgeable. I called last minute to have brakes done and they accommodated me even though I was running late. Asked if I knew differences in pad options and filled me in with positive and negatives for each option. I sat in waiting room and was able to ask some other questions with non mechanic talk. Very helpful and I think I've found a new mechanic.

Carcanix was recommended to me through my friend from work and I couldn't be happier with their work and service. I had an oil change, tire rotation and they replaced a couple broken parts in my wipers. Joel is upfront and breaks down how much everything is down to the parts and service while also being easy to talk to and friendly. He makes recommendations but never pressures you on what you should get and even gives you lower cost options. Highly recommend this mechanic for all of your car needs.

Joel took car of my high mileage truck, it had severe overheating issues beyond just replacing the thermostat. He and his staff got the back my truck up and running again. He took the time to show me the work that had been done and explain what was going wrong with my truck. Super friendly seems to really care about his clientele. Honest and dependable this'll be my new mechanic shop.

These guys came through clutch, when I needed it most. I stopped in toward the end of a workday, for a quick fix, that will lead too a follow on repair. This place was fast, efficient, and super friendly! They did the breaks on my car and were able to get me in same day and were able to help make it as affordable as possible for me. The owner was super friendly and honestly seemed to care about his customers and was very down to earth. Had some work done (Headlight install) as a part of the deal and that work was performed very cleanly, without any issues. Carcanix saved me big and showed the value of finding an honest Auto repair place. I had taken my son's car to Pep Boys for an oil change. Pep Boys gave me a list of things that needed to be fixed including replacing my Lower Control Arms. Bushings were torn Pep Boys said. I took my car to Carcanix. Carcanix checked the car out and said I did not need the repairs - Just something to keep an eye on a year from now. It's hard to find a mechanic you can trust and these guys are outstanding. They've done work for me 3 times so far and I'll keep coming back. Most places are constantly offering upsells and encouraging you to do more work than is necessary. Not these guys. They tell you what you need to know and let you make the decision.

Joel is a great guy... Brought in my RAV 4, and I originally thought the transmission needed work given that two different garages stated that the transmission required replacement (approximately $3,000). Joel examined the car and recommended that ONLY the spark plugs and the coils needed replacement. Saved a ton of money, and the car works like new... Will definitely bring all my cars here for servicing! Joel is very honest...

Very happy with the work done with this shop. On a road trip from California to Washington car started misfiring on multiple cylinders on highway 5. When I was super stressed out this shop helped me get right parts fixed. Replaced the plugs, plug wires and 3 coils. Made it home safe with no check engine light or misfiring occurring. Only disappointed because I didn't get a very good deal for a struggling parent. You could have mentioned the yelp discount available. Still very pleased with paying 135 for labor to ensure my family's safety.

I hate to play into the stereotype that women don't know anything about cars...but I seriously don't know anything about cars. And I don't care to. This is a VERY BAD thing because that means I'm at risk of getting ripped off in a major way. The last mechanic I took my VW to told me that it was going to be around $4000 to repair. I took it to Joel and his boys at Carcanix to get a second opinion and walked out of there having only paid a $620 bill and my car runs beautifully. These guys are so amazing, so friendly and they DON'T nickel and dime you for every stupid little thing like every single other mechanic will. This should serve as two 5 star reviews because my family has been with Joel twice already. Finding a trustworthy and reliable mechanic is tough. Finding one who is also personable and friendly is even more challenging. Joel and his staff are that and more. Our first experience with Joel was with my brother-in-law's vehicle, an older vehicle that posed a number of issues in the past. Though he was quoted hundreds more by both dealership and other private mechanics, Joel was able to do the job right for a lesser cost and without my brother-in-law having to negotiate/haggle. My second experience with Joel was my own. My car needed repair. Admittedly, Joel was the first person I contacted. A prudent decision. He treated me with respect, just like he would his own mother - I've witnessed that first hand and she's a sweet lady. The job was done in less time than another had stated (I did my research) and I'm happy to say that my car is in functioning order. He did give me a lesser rate for their typical hourly labor charge - it appears he does what he can where he can. All in all, I'm thrilled to say that I'm just another one of those happy customers of Joel's. I don't know what else to add to his already unsurpassed reviews but that he works honestly, a rarity in his industry. He and his staff's good work is evident. Go to Carcanix. Simple.

Seriously amazing customer service. They were friendly and would email, text or call to make sure I knew what was going on. I took my car in for a tune up, alignment and new clutch. Through the whole process Joel would call and confirm the work needed to be done and I authorized the service before they proceeded. That way no misunderstanding could possibly happen. I appreciate that. Even at 149000 miles my Subaru now drives great. The alignment is perfect. Plus my clutch works like the day I bought it. I actually had to get use to it again. Great job guys.

I'm only writing this review because I'm getting my oil changed at this moment and why not? After being a loyal customer for about 2 years now I guess it's time for a review. My brother recommended me here. Anyway, I call Joel the morning I need my oil change and he fits me right in even when he's busy. He always checks my car for anything wrong and gives me an affordable price. The place is very laid back. I come in with my laptop and do my homework or watch youtube. He doesn't rip me off like other shops I've go to before. I've been very hesitant to even think about switching mechanics just because I can get ripped off as a woman. Dealers and such have a tendency to higher prices just because they're simply women. Every single time I come in I get treated very well as I see Joel treat other customers that come in while I'm on my laptop. I highly recommend Carcanix to everyone especially women.

I own a 2008 VW GLI. Just this week I took it for it's 80k maintenance which included a transmission service. My car has never ran this smooth. There was a strange vibration in the tires that Joel and his team fixed. These guys are great, they take pride in their work and know their stuff. This reminds me of the small mom and pops shop of the 60's with great customer service and suburb quality care.

We had been hearing noises and thought for sure it was brakes. How many mechanics would be this honest? He could have easily charged us the $600. brake job. Thanks to the other Yelpers, ShOUT OuT to you for leaving a review... I decided to begin taking my car to Carcanix last year after reading a lot of them. Joel & the guys there are the real deal. Old school deal. Honest. Humble. Authentic. Caring. Considerate. All of the qualities that I so often see companies lacking, these guys GO Above & Beyond! It's not like you even have to ask for it,... exceptional customer service is their standard. I appreciate that Joel always gives me options with the pros & cons, I never felt pressure to make a decision and I like that he accommodated his recommendations based off my needs at the time. Mostly I am grateful for the safety I felt moving across state. I brought my car in for some major work and told Joel my intentions to move and with a quick turn around he had my car in tip top shape. Moving is stressful enough so to feel a sense of ease & safety as I drove off was very significant to me.

I recently purchased a new vehicle from an independent seller and took it to Carcanix for a full check up. Not only was Joel and his team able to tell me that the vehicle would be well suited for my needs, but they squeezed me in at the last minute of the day - even after quitting time - so that I could purchase the vehicle first thing in the morning. They are dedicated to their profession and making sure that you drive away better than when you came in. Joel is really exceptional at communicating to you what the needs are of the vehicle so that you can understand it. He is also in tune to your financial range of repairs and will look at all options before settling for a more expensive part. As I stated before, I will bring any vehicle I own into this shop - I know I will be well taken care of.

At times, it seems impossible to find a trustworthy mechanic's shop. However, I have found that Carcanix is a trustworthy mechanic's shop. Joel, the owner, is a fantastic person and will not take advantage of you. He does honest work and will not bill for unnecessary repairs/work. Beyond the honestly, the prices at Carcanix is very reasonable. My go to place for any car repairs.

Now I am no mechanic nor car enthusiast so I definitely don't know much about cars. Because of my lack of knowledge, I have been taken advantage of many times from mechanics who would tell me that my car was in need of major repairs every time I went in for a simple oil change. After getting referred here by a good friend of mine, I can only say that Joel, the owner of Carcanix is by far the most trustworthy person any one could go to for repairs as well as questions on cars. After dropping by for an oil change, he looked over my car parts briefly and was impressed with how well maintained it was and when he saw the previous oil filter that was used in my car, he was very disappointed on how poor quality it was especially after I told him how much I had paid. He did not make any attempt to sell unnecessary parts. Instead, he gave me a little education on how certain parts function as well as their life spans which give me a general idea of when I should replace certain parts. Really helpful as it allows me to do budget planning the next time I need to go in for repairs. As for the wait, it may take some time since it is a small shop with no more than three employees on duty. It his highly recommended that you schedule an appointment at least a week in advance. The wait may be long but they accommodate it by making sure nothing goes wrong with the repairs as well as provide a stack of DVDs (actual movies) to watch while you wait. Generally, your repairs should be done way before you reach halfway of whatever movie you watch unless you are getting extensive work done that requires hours of labor.

Had to take car in because it didn't pass smog. They got me right in and fixed the issue......again, at a very reasonable price. Have two more cars to take in for general maintenance. I trust this shop and the owner. I will NEVER go back to the dealer for service!

The guys at this shop will definitely take care of you. I feel safe going here, whereas other places I feel like you have to be careful of getting taken advantage of, especially if you are a woman. I recently moved across the country (in my car) and Joel helped me prepare for that. I got an oil change, transmission flush, and one other non-routine issue handled. I was informed of pricing ahead of time and was fine with it, and it was indeed what he said it would be once he was finished. I mentioned being unhappy about having to find another mechanic, as I have been taking my car to Joel for several years now. He said he would be happy to look in to some good places out here for me, which he did not have to do. Issues with my car were always explained to me in a understandable way, yet I have never felt pressured to make a certain decision like other mechanics have made me feel prior to taking my car to Carcanix. Joel will be straight up with you about your car. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Best auto shop I've found in the greater Sacramento area. Joel is very attentive to detail and understands when I choose the cheaper option. He will tell me everything wrong but not pressure me to fix it all at once if it's not necessary right away. I've taken my boyfriend's car in to get the AC and window motor fixed. I've taken my car in for a fluid leak. I've taken my mom's car in for a buffing so it looks like new. Great guys!

It's rare that you find an automotive repair facility that is advanced in the art of Customer Service. Joel Portnoy is a master at this art. He is beyond fair and hasn't charged me a dime for anything that didn't need to be done. And, in fact, saved me money by not doing a repair someone else told me was required. The fact that this facility is qualified to work on late model Volvo's - which I unfortunately have - is a GOLD MINE find for me. Every repair has been done right the first time and they have a customer for life. I toggle back and forth between Sac and San Jose. I'll trailer my car to this place before I have the thief's at the San Jose shop work on my V70 again!!!
